"Now that Dreamhost has made it so that users' mail passwords are no longer visible from the control panel, how are we, as webmasters or account administrators, supposed to give people their passwords?"

Please use the Customer Forum or the Control Panel to ask questions in future. The wiki is not a place to ask questions. Also, if you are going to leave comments on a talk page, please sign your comment with four tildes "~~~~".

As webmasters/administrators, you should be creating/managing mailboxes yourselves and keeping an offline or paper record of username/password combinations. Failing that, a password can be "reset" if it is lost or forgotten. Putting plain text passwords out in the wild is foolish, and the new approach is definitely preferred. -- Scjessey 18:51, 14 June 2007 (PDT)
