To reply to your message in my talk page, I have also tried to install Clearsilver without installing Python first. It doesn't work and you will need to install Python on your home directory before you install Clearsilver. When Trac switches over to Kid Template, then I believe you probably won't need to install Python and should be able to use the Python Dreamhost has.

As an aside, you should use the Trac Talk page since there are more trac users that would be able to help you and quite a few have more skillz than I do. They would still tell you to install Python before Clearsilver.

To fix Clearsilver from installing to /usr/* you have to do the Environment Setup first. Clearsilver needs the source of Python for the bindings, which aren't available from Dreamhost Shared account that I'm aware of. If you find them, then please do update the Trac page. It would still be easier to get a working Trac site if you installed Python.
