Automated domain snapshots Edits

((And no, I won't email you either) - I've rolled back your last edit of Automated domain snapshots, as it is not accurate. While it may be true that only hourly backups are available for your domain(s) at this time, there has been no general departure from the .snapshot backup program as described in the page. DreamHost has stated that .snapshot directories are *not* guaranteed to be available at all times (due to fluctuating avavilable disk storage) and that they are a courtesy, provided when and where practical. The article alludes to this limited availability as it relates to weekly backups. All my domains still sport full .snapshots as described in the article. It is not appropriate to make general policy statements on this wiki based on a given circumstance in your account. Should DreamHost confirm for you in a support ticket, or other official communication, that they have eliminated nightly and weekly backups in general, then your edit would be accurate. Without that, this edit could be considered bordering on vandalism, as it unofficially restates DreamHost published information, and is not demonstrably true. Thanks -- Rlparker 22:55, 24 March 2008 (PDT)

Well OK. By the way now there are no snapshots at all for me. Jidanni 18:55, 26 March 2008 (PDT)
You might want to drop a line to DreamHost tech support about that, and see if they can give you any idea when/if you will have them available again. -- Rlparker 05:23, 27 March 2008 (PDT)
Thanks, but it's a "blingy crisis" thing. Thanks anyway. Jidanni 17:31, 30 March 2008 (PDT)
Ah! Hopefully they can get that thing finally resolved and get you your .snapshots back! Good luck! -- Rlparker 18:21, 30 March 2008 (PDT)

Exim Edits

(And no, I won't email you.) - I've moved your recent edit of Exim over to the discussion page so that you may properly clarify the information with the previous author(s) there. Leaving such comments on the main page of a wiki article will just confuse readers and often leads to edit-battles on the article's page over author's who feel their interpretation is the most correct. The discussion page is really more for such debate and/or communications between authors and readers so as to clarify such content before it gets committed or edited on the article's main page. Thanks for understanding and let me know if you have any questions ;) - Mousee 07:05, 23 December 2007 (PST)

OK, thanks. Jidanni 13:16, 23 December 2007 (PST)

Actually, you are likely to have *much* better results getting an answer to your question(s) on the DreamHost Discussion Forums. If, after determining the answer to your question, should you feel that the subject is of general interest and you would like to create an article to share that knowledge, or add the additional information to an existing article, that would be a welcome addition to the DH Wiki. Thanks!-- Rlparker 21:50, 23 December 2007 (PST)

OK, thanks. Jidanni 12:49, 24 December 2007 (PST)

Crontab Edits

Please don't pollute articles with things that should go on the discussion page or be reported to DreamHost. I am working on fixing the crontab issues you mentioned, but had I not looked at your edits I would have been unaware of the problems. Thanks! JeremyKitchen 11:35, 11 March 2008 (PDT)
