Dude, if you're still having trouble with MediaWiki upgrades, I edited the 1.8.2 section for working with the one-click upgrade. I'm also trying to get Dreamhost support to officially do this right (i.e. test, put info in wiki for completion of upgrade, supply link in one-click upgrade interface, etc.). If you've already managed the process and your upgrade is working, please feel free to ignore.
