Talk:Snapshot data restoration

This is a great article, and I think it is badly needed, but I am a little confused. Why is so much coverage given to the use of WebFTP (Net2ftp) for this purpose if it is recommended that it not be used for this purpose? I'm just wondering what the rationale is behind that, and what we are really saying to a user when we say, "Don't use this", and then proceed to go into great detail showing then *how* to do exactly that. Any thoughts? -- Rlparker 14:56, 4 July 2007 (PDT)

I think it is great to see an article explaining how to do it, but I think that (a) making it largely Web FTP specific, and (b) having gigantic, full-screen screenshots is a bit silly. I'm not going to say anything against DH staff wiki input though. It's rare enough as it is! -- Scjessey 15:21, 4 July 2007 (PDT)

"1400-0800" format

Say what the hour range on the back of

2007-12-23_0000-0800.weekly
2007-12-16_0000-0800.weekly
2007-12-23_0000-0800.daily
2007-12-24_0000-0800.daily
2007-12-24_1200-0800.hourly
2007-12-24_1400-0800.hourly

is all about. Say it also on Automated domain snapshots.

Wait, I bet it is not an hour range, but means 14:00 Pacific Time!

OK, then say how to know if one is on a "Half Moon", “Full Moon” & “New Moon" server, or instead a "No Moon" server. Jidanni 15:27, 24 December 2007 (PST)
