After phpize . I get the following error:

Cannot find autoconf. Please check your autoconf installation and the $PHP_AUTOCONF environment variable is set correctly and then rerun this script.

What can I do?

Autoconf problem

I had this problem and I sent an email to dreamhost support and they fixed it in 5 secs.

What was the fix? Seeing the same error here. --Casemon 16:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Anyone know how to deal with this error? This happens when I try to ./configure ffmpeg-php

"ffmpeg headers not found. Make sure you've built ffmpeg as shared libs using the --enable-shared option"

I have successfully built ffmpeg with --enable-shared
