Maximum number of server connections to cache
I read that the default setting for "Maximum Number of server connections to cache" on IMAP causes Thunderbird to hang when using Dreamhost. What is the recommended setting, and should it be included in the article?
Details
should the screenshot Image:Thunderbird09.png have the "No" radio button selected? Or should it have "TLS, if available" selected instead?
and could the "Quick details" section be made clearer for pop3?
Thanks. Monkey11 12:50, 27 August 2007 (PDT)
Version
Please indicate which version of Thunderbird your instructions refer to. It's somewhat different in Mozilla Thunderbird Shredder version 3.0.3pre. Edit > Account Settings. Incoming: your account > Server Settings > Server Type: POP Mail Server. Outgoing: Outgoing Sever (SMTP) > your account > Edit.
Updated process
Given that DreamHost's settings don't go smoothly into the default Thunderbird mail setup, does it make sense to update the step-by-step instructions for Thunderbird 3.x? There are a couple of tricks to making the process work (I've done it before, but since forgotten) and turned to this page for non-help. An updated page would likely save many a lot of hassle. Thanks.
