I had scheduled a database move but the move failed silently at midnight :-(. I emailed Support and they were able to manually do the move. It took 2 days but wasn't a bother besides the wait. And I didn't have to change any configuration files or anything. --Gadlen 08:15, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm very sorry about that. It looks like the wiki article had information from an earlier set of procedures left in it. If you like, place a note on the Discussion tab of the article so an editor can correct it as soon as possible. The second statement is the current procedure, so keep in mind that if the automated move for some reason hits a snag, that yes, a MySQL admin person would manually be able to complete the move, after taking care of issues that had cause the automated move to stall.

This is also automated. All hostnames associated with a particular MySQL server are assigned to the destination MySQL server. If you manage your DNS for any domain that has a MySQL hostname, then you will need to update the DNS for the associated MySQL hostname(s) after the merge completion email is received.
