Talk:Drupal Troubleshooting

Since this patch uses .htaccess php_value directives, it will only work on apache mod_php users and will not work for PHP CGI (due to suexec.) - Pete
It's not a good idea to post patches without context to things that are going to change. Is this a patch against drupal 4, 5, or 6? or 5.2? 5.2.1? Are these patches still needed in the latest version of drupal with DreamHost? -- Bjorn 16:50, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm running multi-site using Drupal 6.9 out of the box with no apparent need for any hacks or patches. It looks like things have significantly improved; Drupal 6 is now included as one-click installs from the panel and on the new (still beta) DreamhostApps. -- Jrguitar21 03:29, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
So you offer a suggestion to simply move up from shared to dedicated hosting if the site is consuming too many resources, but what if we're on a non-profit hosting plan (and thanks for the existence of those Dreamhost!). You might just retort that we should pay for a dedicated server now, but remember that we're nonprofit and our group really doesn't bring in near enough cash right now to fund that. We constantly have the issue with random 404 errors and have done what we can to turn mod_security off etc. Any ideas? --Rack88 16:05, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
