Any chance we can get some info here on how to set up a discussion list in advance of pointing DNS to DreamHost's nameservers? Bigbrotherinlaw 14:22, 9 Oct 2006 (PDT)

No Maillist Archives yet?

I keep getting this message, even though a number of message have been exchanged on the "List". Is there something else I need to do, or is the archive simply exceptionally slow at being populated, It has been at least 12 hours since the list was created and messages exchanged?

The List-domain.com Archives
No messages have been posted to this list yet, so the archives are currently empty.
You can get more information about this list.

tech support said "It appears that there was a bad list over-loading the archive function. We've since resolved this issue." all is well now. I am under the impression that it wasn't any of my own lists which caused the problem. So I guess you should contact support to resolve such issues. --Dolio 02:34, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

What "Convenience Addresses" are being set up?

When creating a new discussion list you see this option:

"Create Convenience Addresses: Sets up email aliases at the main domain, ex: @yourdomain.com"

But what email aliases are being set up? This wiki documentation page doesn't answer this question either. Can someone add a list, at least on this wiki page, of what aliases are being set up and what they're for?

(I originally set up a discussion list without checking this box since I didn't know what it did, and I hadn't read this wiki page yet which said it was recommended. Now I suspect that you had to check that box in order for your list address to not be listname@lists.yourdomain.com but listname@yourdomain.com  ? But how would I know since there's no real documentation about what this little checkbox does? I've since edited the list and checked the box to set up these aliases, but I still don't know what they are or what they do.) --Waltztime

Ok, I've just added some documentation for this myself, after seeing what addresses were set up for my list. --Waltztime 08:39, 1 March 2012 (PST)
