Fixed, needed to chmod the AwStatsDir to 755. ;) Almost got it working, but it appears that the http://YourDomain/AwStatsDir/cgi-bin/awstats.pl?config=YourDomain address clashes with Wordpress 1.5x... No idea how to modify the .htaccess to get Wordpress to ignore it though... Any one able to help? --Skit 19:39, 19 Jan 2006 (PST)

thanks that really helped...its was an easy task... Musicmastee 17:38, 11 Jan 2006 (PST)

Recommend Deletion

I have recommended deletion of this page since I have moved its information and edited its contents on the other page. I don't see the point of having two pages doing the same thing almost the same way. Santosj 06:14, 17 Feb 2006 (PST)

Agreed: We'll give it 24 hours to see if there are objections. If there are none, I'll delete it, along with Awstats Alt (which simply redirects) -- Scjessey 06:23, 17 Feb 2006 (PST)
Disagree: I like this method better than the other method. I'm not sure what is different but I've done both and this way, step by step, is far better to me. I want to be able to update via the browser on demand. -- Bryan
Disagree: I, too, think this is a far better methodology than the "primary" stats methodology. Dhvrm 10:01, 13 October 2007 (PDT)
Disagree: I like this method better. I wasn't able to get it working with the other method. Me too. This is actually a different setup altogether. It is a dynamic configuration that allow it to be run as a cgi script in the browser. It generates dynamic pages (you have access to previous months) and can view real time data. --Decio 08:10, 5 Jan 2007 (PST)

Crontab

I had a problem making the crontab entry work because it wouldn't process it on the hour (didn't process it at all actually). I ended up having to do it through the Dreamhost control panel and then it worked right away. I looked at the crontab entry it did and it was significantly different in terms of format than the traditional line listed for crontab use, so we might want to adjust that part to reflect the fact. Probable syntax error: Check your crontab syntax, I've used the suggested crontab syntax here on multiple installs and it works for all of them Dhvrm 09:59, 13 October 2007 (PDT)
