Talk:116 Common Questions
From DreamHost
This is a really stupid title for an article. In fact, this is a terrible way of doing FAQs. It would be better if the questions were separated and categorized properly. -- Scjessey 05:41, 3 Nov 2006 (PST)
- I personally feel the title goes along with our casual company style, even if it isn't necessarily conducive to searching etc. The reason this is all in a single page is because this is a direct copy and paste of 116 questions a prospective customer asked us (all in one sales submission), and their answers by one of our technicians, Glen. He didn't have the time to do more than just copy and paste, but he didn't want to lose the information. Josh formatted it later. The users are free to edit as they see fit, and I myself might even break this into headings, pages, and categories, if I get the time. As a P.S.: This comment was worded in a very insulting manner (stupid, terrible).. Remember the honey/vinegar rule. -- Sabrejack 10:40, 3 Nov 2006 (PST)
Right now, this page is formatted like this:
1. How long has your company been open?
Since April 1997... learn more here http://www.dreamhost.com/aboutus.html and here here
2. What is the typical load average on your web servers?
We try to keep them under the 2-3 range... anything higher gets looked at.
I would suggest formatting it more along these lines:
1. How long has your company been open?
2. What is the typical load average on your web servers?
- We try to keep them under the 2-3 range. Anything higher gets looked at.
I think it's easier on the eyes and allows the sentences to wrap if and when nescessary.

- I would say go for it... No need to get permission to make something look better. :-) --PrezKennedy 13:02, 3 Nov 2006 (PST)
- I like the way that looks a lot. Feel free! --Sabrejack 13:25, 3 Nov 2006 (PST)
- Looks like someone beat me to it :-) --Balaamsmiracle 14:01, 3 Nov 2006 (PST)
Add earthquake preparedness statement
Please add:
- Q: I hear Dreamhost might be in an earthquake prone part of the nation. Does Dreamhost have any contingency plans to reduce possible downtime?
