Switching to a Manual Application Installation
This page documents how to uninstall a One-Click dreamhost application and switch to a manual install method using FTP.
One common problem is being able to remove an application installed by the Dreamhost One-Click installer. After uninstalling the application your domain may look like this:
To host http://example.com/ using Dreamhost configure your domain to be "Fully Hosted".
Upload files to $HOME/example.com/ using FTP.
After your files have finished uploading, visit the site and see if anything changed.
If you continue to see the above error message you must open a support ticket. There is some special configuration that has to be changed.
The above error was resolved within 2 hours after contacting support.
