The support area of the DreamHost Control Panel features three sections:

  1. Contact Support
  2. Support History
  3. Bookstore

Contact Support

The Contact Support section lists several methods for getting support:

  1. "Is my server down?" Tool
  2. The DreamHost Wiki
  3. The DreamHost Knowledge Base (includes a search box)
  4. The DreamHost Discussion Forum
  5. The Emergency Status page
  6. A form to submit a support request
  7. Live Chat support (limited activity)

Most queries can be answered by searching the knowledge base, this Wiki, or the discussion forum, and these should be the first ports of call in the event of a problem. If those fail to provide a solution, submitting a support request will get a response within a reasonable amount of time.

Support History

This section displays a complete history of a user's interaction with the support team.

Bookstore

DreamHost has reviewed a number of useful web books that are listed here.

Response Time

Although DreamHost claims to try to respond to a post within 24 hours, please keep in mind that it can take anywhere from a couple of hours to days on end.
