Nvu is an easy-to-use web authoring system.
- Web Site Information
- This is a URI used to indicate the home page of the site you are working on. This should take the following format: http://.hostname/ where hostname is a fully hosted domain or subdomain.
- Publishing Server
- This is a URI used to indicate the hostname used to upload files. This should take the following format: ftp://ftp.hostname/ where hostname is a fully hosted domain or subdomain.
It should be noted that one can specify a remote directory that will become the top-level directory in the Site Manager. To do this, append the directory path to the Publishing Server URI. DreamHost usually uses the hostname as the directory name, so far our example we could use "ftp://ftp.example.com/example.com", and the Site Manager will show only the files and directories that can be accessed from the web.
One 'should not' put their username in either setting, as the Nvu Help indicates. DreamHost does not use that convention.
