Please keep in mind that you must have an active web hosting plan in order to use the DNS hosting service provided by DreamHost. DreamHost does not provide a free DNS hosting service without an active hosting plan. If you need a free DNS hosting service, please try out Free DNS.

If you have registered or host a domain with DreamHost and would like to host it with your current MobileMe account, you can do so using the following steps:

Changes in your MobileMe Account

1. Go to your account page and then click ‘Personal Domain’ on the left-hand side of the page.
2. Read the information provided on the page and then click the 'Add Domain...' button.
3. Enter in the domain that you'd like to host on MobileMe and then enter it in the confirmation box again and click 'Continue'
4. Follow the directions below, under the 'Changes in your DreamHost Account' section.

Changes in your DreamHost Account

To make the necessary DNS changes to host your domain with MobileMe, you'll need to first remove the web hosting service from your domain.

1. Click the 'delete' button that appears next to your domain under the 'Web Hosting' column in the Manage Domains section of the control panel.
2. Visit the Manage Domains page again and click the 'DNS' link that appears under your domain.
3. On that custom DNS page, enter in www in the Name: field.
4. Change the Type to CNAME.
5. Enter web.me.com into the Value: field.
6. Click the Add Record Now! button to add the custom record.

You'll be good to go after DNS propagation.

Finishing Up

After you have made the necessary requirements to your MobileMe and DreamHost accounts as mentioned above, make sure to head back to your MobileMe Account page and click the 'Done' button to complete the process on MobileMe's end.
