How do I set up anonymous FTP service?

Currently only the Level 3 and Level 4 plans include anonymous FTP service. If you don't have either of these plans, you must upgrade. If you're already on one of these plans, just follow these easy directions to set up your anonymous FTP service!

  1. Go to the "Domains > Anon FTP" area of our web panel.
  2. Select your domain from the dropdown menu and click the 'Continue' button.
  3. If you don't have a plan that provides anonymous ftp, you'll be given the option to sign up for one now.
  4. Next you will be asked to allocate a unique ip address, which is required for Anonymous FTP access. An unique IP address is included in Level 4 plans, but you may purchase one separately if you have a Level 3 plan.
  5. Next you will be asked to configure the ftp service. Hopefully by reading that page you'll understand what most of the options are!
  6. When you're done with configuration, click Save Changes and your new Anonymous FTP service will be set up within a few hours. Note that if you purchased a new unique IP address, it may take several hours before your domain is switched to the new IP address, and longer (24-48 hours) before the DNS changes will propogate. The DNS changes must propogate before you will be able to access your new Anonymous FTP service via ftp://yourdomain.com
  7. From there you can continue configuring your Anonymous FTP server, such as adding new directories with different permissions.

Please note: Once your Anonymous FTP service is active, it may be accessed at ftp://yourdomain.com. Anonymous users must give a user name of "anonymous" and a blank password to access the FTP server.
