Installing an Application
Log into your DreamHost panel.
Under the Goodies menu, click the One-Click Installs link.
The One-Click Installs page displays the catalog of available applications. Click the icon for the application you would like to learn more about.
The App window displays the following details about the application:
- Name
- Version
- Author
- Description
- Rating
The following types of installation options are available:
| Simple Installation

Custom Installation
|
| Pros: Very simple to install and we manage the software for you (such as handling major updates or security updates to the software).
Cons: You will not have access to the software files.

Pros: Quick to install and you will be able to update and manage the application on your own. (Such as for installing plugins and themes). You will be able to access your files.
Cons: You will need to maintain the application for the changes that you make; although, you can set it to update automatically.

The Simple Installation will ask which subdomain to install the app under, the web site domain for it to be associated with, the name of the site, and the email address you would like to have control over it.

The Custom Installation will ask you to select the domain to install the app under, the folder/directory to install it in (if you want to install it in a subdirectory), and to create a new database or use an existing database.

After clicking the install button, a success message reveals your user name and password for the application. (See red arrows above.)

We also send an email with the login and steps to finalize the installation.
