Yeah, I noticed that. I just think it is a pretty vague category, because it sets up article names that consist of questions (which are ugly), instead of a more structured approach. Usability studies have shown that the drill-down approach is better for users, combined with a search facility (which the wiki already has). -- Scjessey 04:56, 19 Apr 2006 (PDT)

Are we supposed to ad questions to the faq to get them answered? or do we ask somewhere/somehow else?

Deletion proposal (June 3, 2007)

I propose the deletion of this article for the following reasons:

• Nearly all articles in this category exist in other similar categories already.
• The information in the article itself is uncategorized.
• In my opinion, cleaning up the page would not rectify the haphazard way in which it links to and is linked from other categories.

Agreed. I've always thought this category was a silly idea, and guaranteed to provoke the spread of questions that should be confined to the customer forum and support system. We should make sure all articles within the category are properly categorized elsewhere before deletion. -- Scjessey 09:17, 3 June 2007 (PDT)

Should we move forward with deletion?

Deletion was proposed years ago. Is anyone finding this topic valuable? The points are salient that the questions asked are better for drill down or for the forums. I suggest we decide once and for all so we can start to clean up the wiki and make it into the manual it was intended.

As indicated above, I would be in favor of this category being deleted, provided it got support from a DreamHost employee (I'm a sysop, but otherwise just a customer). I would suggest that before deletion of the category page occurs, the [[Category:FAQS]] must first be removed from all the articles within the category. Otherwise we may get legacy "redlinks" and someone might recreate the category page. -- Scjessey 12:16, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
